WHAT YOU HAVE MANAGE IS TO CHEAPEN EVERYTHING I DONE
AND DON'T PRETEND YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT I'VE BEEN THROUGH, SON
Chloé was standing in the bookstore, walking through the lines of bookshelves inside. This was one of Chloé's favorite places in Norden. It was pretty much always empty of people her own age, so she didn't have to be scared of running into someone that knew her. Not that many people knew her though, but still. Her long, bright, red hair was pulled up in a high ponytail and she was dressed in a pair of dark skinny jeans, a pair of doc Martens and an oversize jersey shirt underneath a thick black jacket. It was still a bit cold outside, so before she left the this morning she had wrapped a big, chunky scarf around her neck which she now held in her hand as she looked at the different book titles. If she had the money, she would buy them all. It was like they were a bunch of lost puppies, looking for a home, and if she had the room... Then who was she to turn down a couple of lost puppy-books...?
She sighed and put down one of Fjodor Dostojevski's books, she had red a couple of them when she was in High School. They were though, but it had been worth it in the end. She pushed back a strand of hair behind her ear as she walked to the end of bookshelf and turned the corner. She had to go to the retirement home later that day to check up on Henry, to make sure he was doing alright, and she was really not looking forward to it. Last time, he had almost punched her and screamed that he had no idea who she was and that she should stop bothering him, it had been rough to see her grandfather that way, but she knew she had to do it. She was all he had after all.
ALL I EVER WANTED WAS TO STAY AT HOME, RESTING IN A DIRTY BED ON BRITTLE BONES
BUT LATELY I'VE BEEN FEELING LIKE I THAT CAN'T COME TRUE IN THE COMPANY OF YOU;
