No one knows where or when they came back, it was just as if they one day decided to return, and once they did, nothing would be the same in the small town of Norden ever again...

Interrupted Youth plays with the idea of Death not being the final destination. It is looesly based around the french TV show Les Revenants, or The Returned in English. IY takes place in a sleepy small town, called Norden, where many mystical things have started happening during the last couple of years. There is talk about the big dam, outside of the town's northen borther is covering an even older town, which church tower can be seen if the water is low, there is also talk about a curse - forcing the town of Norden to be enveloped in a certain kind of shared melancholy, making the feel of Norden very mysterious, dark and gloomy, there is something wrong and everyone can feel it too. But maybe the most mysterious thing happening in Norden is the fact that randomly through out the year, people that are supposed to be dead have started to "come back", without any recognition of their deaths or how they returned.

The Hammel Institute, hidden away in northern Vermont, has a secret. It's not just an elite boarding school like everyone pretends it is. There, young meta-humans are learning how to use their powers and get along in a world filled with baseline humans. The school and the town nearby are a haven for metas, but unless they want to stay in Pilot Ridge forever, they need to learn how to control their abilities.

Hammel is an active, friendly site with a wide variety of characters and member-created plots. We accept characters of all ages and types, but we are looking for teachers and officials for the school, and female and non-gender binary characters in particular!
